Maritime Lumber Bureau

The Maritime Lumber Bureau (MLB) is a non-profit organization, CLSAB-accredited lumber grading agency, industry association representing most of the companies that manufacture lumber in Atlantic Canada.  MLB is authorized to apply specified standards by the Canadian Lumber Standards Accreditation Board, the American Lumber Standards Committee Inc., the British Standards Institute, and the Japanese Ministry of Construction. The more than 100 sawmills from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland, and the State of Maine that have taken out voluntary membership are required to adhere to published standards. S-P-F (Spruce-Pine-Fir) and Eastern White Pine are the primary species grown and manufactured under the authority of the MLB.
